ஆகாயம் ஈசனின் படைப்பான ஐம்பூதங்கள்  நீர், நெருப்பு, காற்று, பூமி, ஆகாயம் ஆகும். இதில் வெளியினை அதாவது ஆகாயம் பற்றி பார்க்கலாம். ஆகாயம் எனில் வெளி. ஈசன்  ஐம்பூதங்களாய் சஞ்சரிக்கின்றார் அதற்குரிய ஆலயங்களும் உள்ளன. இதில் ஆகாயத்துக்கானது(வெளி) தில்லை என்ற சிதம்பரம். சிதம்பரம் என்பதற்கு பொருள்: "சித்" என்றால் மனம். "அம்பரம்" என்றால் பெருவெளி. மனம் என்ற பெருவெளியில் இறை வனை நிறுத்துவதையே சிதம்பரம் என்கிற கருத்து உணர்த்துகிறது. சிதம்பர ரகசியம் என்பது, "ஏதுமில்லாதது” ஏதுமில்லாத இடத்தில்  (பெருவெளியில்) எல்லாமே இருக்கிறது என்பதையே சிதம்பரம் உணர்த்துகிறது. "ஏதுமில்லாத" வெளியில் ஈசன் மறைந்திருக்கிறான். ஏதுமில்லாமையை அவன் தரித்திருக்கிறான். இறைவனை "மறையுமாய்  மறையின் பொருளுமாய்" வந்தவன் என மாணிக்க வாசகர் திருவாசகத்தில் குறிப் பிடுகிறார். இதன் பொருள் மறைகளை ஓதியதோடு அவற்றின் அர்த்தங்களாகவும் இருப்பவன் ஈசன் என்பதாகும். சிதம்பரனாய் மறைந்திருந்து திருவிளையாடல்களைச் செய்பவன் ஈசனே என்பது இதன் 'மறை' பொருள். வெளி என்பது விரிந்த...

Therefore, the maximmum number of times that one can recite "mantra", or perform "Jap" are 10800. If one wants to obtain 100% benefit of its jap, then performing jap 108 times will give you the benefit of 100%. That's why in a "Mala", there are 108 beads.
